make sure you add an UV lite sterilizer to keep your pond sparkling clear without green, foggy water.

Great looking waterfall/pond and a beautiful yard. Must be nice to be able to run it all year long. Where I’m from we’d be lucky to run 6 months.

I’ve had ponds for over 30 years. I’d like to give you a little advice. Pond plants like Colocasia (taro) will imbed them selves into your mortared rocks. They over take the pond and will be difficult to remove.
Algae can become a problem. Salt is good for your fish at 0.1%-0.2% and will prevent string algae. I use a KioMedic1 to read my salt levels. Buy salt for water softeners in large bags. You may be surprised how much it takes.

srry for the delay in reply. the 3500 gph or approx 60 gallons per minute pump is 100 watts. they run it 24 hours a day for the same cost of running a 100 watt light bulb. so the costs per month is roughly $5

had string algae and just used a basic fish safe algicide and haven’t had a [problem since. As far as plants the only ones we use in the pond are the hardy water lilies and they also do a good job of decreasing the hardness of the water. The automatic fill is run off of las vegas tap water which is extremely hard.
ty for the additional info.

Cool video! (5 – STARS!)
Thanks for posting it!
I help run a free Pond share website.
It would be great to have some more pond people join in and share their pictures, videos, and stories.

@nameis12396 sry for taking so long to reply. Yes u can use concrete. there are a couple of things to keep in mind if you do: your location, how deep a pond, are there going to be fish, & total size. make sure you reinforce (min 4″ thick, 8X8 10 gauge) plan your plumbing, use vinegar wash on concrete after 72 hrs and scrub in with stiff broom/brush, and paint with dark pool paint. *oh and is better to leave a rough finish with the concrete./
